Youth Services Development Project

Queen's Park Bangladesh Association takes pride in its youth project. This project seeks to increase community cohesion as well as divert children and young people away from anti-social behaviour

Our Youth Services Development Project seeks to contribute to existing and mainstream initiatives which aim to raise educational attainment through formal and informal learning; Promote community safety and Encourage joint work with other organisation.

QPBA has been running indoor and outdoor sports activities in partnership with a number of local provider partners.

Alongside our sporting activities, we have introduced talks and lectures about different issues that our youth are faced with. Talks and lectures have covered topics/themes such as drugs and substance misuse; vandalism and neighbourhood renewal programmes.

Sessions & Activities

  • The participants of the project are aged 10 to 18 years old.
  • These sessions provides information, advice, counselling and support for young people to participate in the wider community.
  • The sessions are a forum for young people to get together and discuss various concerns, and strategies for challenging sexual and racial stereotypes.
  • Women are encouraged to contribute and benefit from social, cultural and economic related activities.
  • Cross-cultural activities were organised to improve understanding between communities.
  • Sports activities were frequently organised to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Outdoor activities have included trips to museums and leisure centres.
